Well, the media was full of the Code Red on climate talk from the UN yesterday. Made me chuckle. It was only back in 1989 when the the then Director General issued this dire warning…..
U.N. Predicts Disaster if Global Warming Not Checked
PETER JAMES SPIELMANN June 30, 1989UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.
Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ″eco- refugees,′ ′ threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP.
He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect before it goes beyond human control.
As the warming melts polar icecaps, ocean levels will rise by up to three feet, enough to cover the Maldives and other flat island nations, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.
Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study.
″Ecological refugees will become a major concern, and what’s worse is you may find that people can move to drier ground, but the soils and the natural resources may not support life. Africa doesn’t have to worry about land, but would you want to live in the Sahara?″ he said.…

And multiple others like it ever since, each mire hysterical and each more ridiculous. Well, its 2021 and no nations have been wiped off the face of the earth…. nowhere near. In fact, other than the rise of wokeness, not much has changed at all since 1989.
I don’t agree totally with your theory, however, we are all entitled to our opinion, we all have one! I am slightly worried about the wildfires, excessive flooding, and the fact that our summers are hotter and longer than I remember. It wouldn’t hurt to be a little conservative as far as caring for our home.

If it bleeds, it leads, as they saw in the media. So the more outrageous the lies and exaggerations, the better the story for the media. You can’t govern except from a point of hysteria, it seems.

Fortunately for the doom-sayers, society has a short memory. It’s like they can make up any wild story and convince some people it’s true. The headlines I laugh about goes something like this: Canada is Warming Twice as Fast as the Rest of the Planet. The following week, they write this: “UK Warming Twice as Fast as Other Countries”. A few days later, the same headline only a different country. Apparently, everywhere is warming twice as fast as everywhere else. Sometimes they’ll add “leaked email finds…” just to give it a naughtiness to help create believability.
Climate Emergency is a religion, and facts don’t matter to those who believe. The preachers know this and milk it for everything it’s worth.
